A device for fabricating a falsification-protected document has a punch hole on the edge of the document and at least one eye arranged in a hole, and a sealing thread drawn through the punch hole and an embossed seal is provided for fixing the sealing yarn on the document. The device at least sequentially automates the steps of: locating the eye(s) in the punch hole, threading the sealing yarn into a punch hole, fixing the sealing yarn on the document by an embossed seal. An independent claim is included for method for fabricating a falsification-protected document.
