PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming apparatus designed so as to minimize an image density variation even in consecutive printing.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a photoreceptor drum; a charging unit for charging the surface of the photoreceptor drum; an LSU for forming an electrostatic latent image on the photoreceptor drum; and a developing unit for visualizing the electrostatic latent image with toner by using a development bias potential DVB. The image forming apparatus further includes a bias potential correcting section 20 for correcting a development bias potential DVB. The bias potential correcting section 20 increases an amount of correction of development bias potential DVB according to the drum running distance measured from the start of image formation.
