PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detector capable of monitoring, from time to time, whether a liquid fuel amount is enough to requirement for a fuel cell, and capable of coping instantaneously with an insufficient liquid fuel amount when generated. SOLUTION: This liquid level detector of the present invention is used for detecting a liquid level height of liquid fuel in a container, and is provided with an inner space communicated with the container, and the liquid level detector includes a heater installed in the inner space of the liquid level detector and for heating the liquid fuel in the inner space, one or more of temperature sensors installed in the inner space of the liquid level detector and for measuring a temperature value of the liquid fuel in the inner space, and a liquid level calculator for receiving the temperature value of the liquid fuel measured by the each temperature sensor, for calculating a temperature change speed of the liquid fuel, and for reducing the liquid level height of the liquid fuel in the container, based on the temperature change speed.
