PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording/reproducing device capable of surely moving copyright protected data. SOLUTION: During the movement of copyright protected data, identification data recorded in the recording part of a moving source or a recording medium loaded in the recording part is moved to be held in the device. After the replacement of the recording medium, the held identification data is recorded in the replaced new recording medium.
