PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable liquid jet device which permits a wasteless use of a liquid and can prevent air from advancing into a liquid supply route at the time when the remaining quantity of the liquid of a main tank is finished up or the main tank is replaced. SOLUTION: The liquid jet device has the main tank having a flexible bag storing a liquid, an intermediate tank provided between the main tank and the liquid jet head and having a flexible bag storing the liquid, a pump which transfers the liquid to the intermediate tank from the main tank, a pressure sensing means to sense the pressure in the channel between the main tank and the pump, a control section which stops the operation of the pump and controls the pump so as to reverse the liquid transfer direction of the pump after stopping the operation of the pump at the time when the pressure sensing means senses negative pressure.
