PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing adjusting device for preventing operational failure and damage. SOLUTION: A guide groove 58 guiding a movable body 56 in a guide rotary body 34, has a planar stopper surface 74 locking the movable body 56 by abutting on an outer peripheral surface 60 of the movable body 56 from the outside in the groove drawing direction in end parts 80 and 81, an outside guide surface 70 and an inside guide surface 72 guiding the movable body 56 by respectively slidingly contacting with the outer peripheral surface 60 of the movable body 56 from the outside and inside in the rotational diameter direction of the guide rotary body 34, outside connecting surfaces 76 and 77 and inside connecting surfaces 78 and 79 connecting a part between the stopper surfaces 74 and 75 and the respective guide surfaces 70 and 72 in a radial circular arc surface shape smaller than the outer peripheral surface 60 of a cylindrical surface shape of the movable body 56.
