PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manual type or electrically-drive excavation implement having a size and a weight portable by human power and capable of facilitating the excavation of large-diameter holes of a diameter between 100-300 mm on the ground as preliminary work when piles and foundations are arranged primarily on the ground. SOLUTION: The excavation implement comprises a shaft rod 1 in which a screw thread 2 is mounted to its outer circumference; a tip member 6 mounted to the tip of the shaft rod 1 and having a sharpened tip; and a bent piece 7 protruding in the vicinity of the tip member 6 and capable of penetrating the ground from its tip when erected on the ground to penetrate the ground while digging up earth and sand ahead in the direction of rotation when the shaft rod 1 is rotated and remove dug-up earth and sand to the outside. The bent piece 7 can bore small holes and dig up earth and sand in the holes. The screw thread 2 can therefore easily penetrate the ground and bore holes of a desired diameter.
