PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely perform the inhibition of dissolution of 6-valent chromium by limiting the adding amount of a calcium compound in a proper range. SOLUTION: This method for producing a solid fuel by using powdery granular material of a wood as a raw material, drying the powdery granular material, forming the dried powdery granular material as a pellet form is provided by adding 1 to 4 mass% calcium compound to the dried powdery granular material, and adding the calcium compound so as to make a mass ratio R of calcium to potassium in burning ash as 7≥R≥Rs by taking a prescribed mass ratio Rs as 6.
