METHOD FOR PRODUCING (METH)ACRYLIC ESTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an acrylic or a methacrylic ester by which the coloring in a condensation reaction can be suppressed and the viscosity can be regulated (especially regulation in a high-viscosity region) in a method for producing the acrylic or methacrylic ester by subjecting acrylic or methacrylic acid and a polyhydric alcohol to a condensation reaction. SOLUTION: The method for production is a method for producing the acrylic or methacrylic ester comprising subjecting the acrylic or methacrylic acid and the polyhydric alcohol to the condensation reaction. In the method, the molar ratio of the acrylic or methacrylic acid to one mol of hydroxy group in the polyhydric alcohol is 0.9-1.15 and the rate of reaction based on the consumption of the acrylic or methacrylic acid is≤95%.
