摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic material which highly-sensitively realizes the variation of optical properties and effectively absorbs two photons, that is, an organic material with a large two-photon absorption cross section; to provide a two-photon absorption optical recording material which at least has a two-photon absorption compound with a large two-photon absorption cross section and is reproducible by detecting the difference in optical properties produced after recording is performed by an unrewritable method using the two-photon absorption of the two-photon absorption compound; and to provide an excellent three-dimensional two-photon absorption optical recording material using them. <P>SOLUTION: The two-photon absorption material is represented by formula (I), wherein Ar<SB>1</SB>, Ar<SB>3</SB>, and Ar<SB>4</SB>represent each a substituted or unsubstituted bivalent aromatic hydrocarbon group; Ar<SB>2</SB>represents a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group; R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>each independently represents a group selected from among a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkoxy group, and a substituted or unsubstituted alkylthio group; x and y each independently represents an integer of from 0 to 2; and n represents 0 or 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
