<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for dispensing bone cement. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus 10 for dispensing bone cement includes a cartridge 12 for housing bone cement. The apparatus 10 also includes a plunger 20 which can be inserted into the cartridge 12. An impedance sensor 22 is coupled to the plunger 20 to produce an output signal indicative of impedance of bone cement contained in the cartridge 12. The apparatus 10 may include a processing circuit 50 which determines an impedance value of bone cement contained within the cartridge 12 based on the sensor signal. The processing circuit 50 may activate a visual indicator 58 based on the impedance value to indicate that the dough time, the end-of-work time, and/or setting-time of bone cement contained in the cartridge 12 have been reached. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
