<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle drive controller capable of stable motor torque control based on the combination of a generator and an AC motor. <P>SOLUTION: The torque command value Tt of a motor 4 is calculated on the basis of the driving force required by driven wheels, and the generator 7 is controlled at an operation point at which the torque command value Tt can be generated efficiently. Also, a time delay is imparted to the torque command value Tt to calculate a torque command value Tm.
