PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high values in both an average color rendering evaluation index Ra and a peculiar color rendering evaluation index R9 even when a metal halide lamp is used as a light source, and to colorfully recreate a perishable food product or the like, in a reflector for a luminaire and a luminaire. SOLUTION: The spectral reflection factor of this reflector is not smaller than 90% in a range of 410-500 nm of the wavelength of light from a metal halide lamp (light source) and in a range of 650-750 nm thereof, not greater than 90% in a range of 550-600 nm thereof, and 70-85% in a range of 570-600 nm thereof.
