PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas lighter capable of releasing a fuel gas to the external by a simple operation in discarding and the like. SOLUTION: In this gas lighter 50 comprising a lighter body storing a fuel gas, a valve mechanism for jetting the fuel gas from a nozzle 21 when the nozzle 21 disposed at an upper portion is pulled up, and an operation lever 3 provided with an engagement portion 31 engaged with the nozzle 21 at its one end side and a pressing portion 32 at the other end side, and oscillatably supported on the lighter body, an engagement portion 31 side of the operation lever 3 is supported by a bent insertion piece 66 bendably connected to a cover 5, thus a rising state of the engagement portion 31 can be kept to degas.
