PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attached unit miniaturizable so as to be unbulky and inconspicuous even if attached to merchandise without getting in the way so much when a customer takes the merchandise in hand to look at it even if attached to miniaturized merchandise, and to provide a merchandise theft monitoring device including the attached unit and easily applicable to various merchandise. SOLUTION: The attached unit AU1 including a detecting part 4 for detecting whether it is attached to merchandise G1 (G2) includes a switch storage case 3 protrusively provided with an external thread part 32. The detecting part 4 includes a momentary switch 41 built in the case 3; an elastic member 42 put thereon; an external threaded hole 321; and a movable element 43 and a movable element energizing spring 44 charged in the hole. A contact 4c is open when the switch 41 is not pressed, and the contact 4c is closed when the attached unit AU1 is attached to the merchandise.
