The assembly has a direct current motor (2) arranged at a top side of a retaining body for a pump unit (5), and an electronic unit for electronically controlling and/ or regulating the unit. A laminar air gap is provided between a rotor (R) and a stator (S). The air gap is designed coaxial to a drive shaft (9) of the rotor, and is parallel to the top side of the retaining body. The air gap is arranged parallel to a plane, which is arranged at a right-angle to the drive shaft.
