<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise performance in an optical detector by easily reducing a dark current. <P>SOLUTION: The optical detector includes: a plurality of quantum dot layers 2, and first conductive contact layers 4A, 4B arranged at both the sides so as to hold the quantum dot layers 2 between them. Second conductive impurities are added to a first semiconductor layer 5 which is formed between the first conductive contact layer 4A and the first quantum dot layer 2A closest to the contact layer 4A, so as to obtain a barrier against a carrier positioned in the first conductive contact layer 4A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
