<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve heat radiation characteristics of an optical disk device of a slot system. <P>SOLUTION: A unit cover 16 on a side of a disk-facing surface of a unit mechanism 6 is provided with a peripheral plate part 21, a lever supporting plate part 22, a disk introduction flat plate part 23, a flexible wiring presser flat plate part 24, reinforcing flat plate parts 25, a driving part cover flat plate part 27, sub guide shaft side ventilators 28, a sub guide shaft side expansion notch 30, an outer peripheral side expansion notch 31, and a main guide shaft side expansion notch 32.
