PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the update of software when recovering from the failure of electronic equipment without damaging security. SOLUTION: This update management program 40 is provided to, when updating the software of an operating system 30 or the like mounted on a C drive 15a of electronic equipment 10 by an update module 51 acquired through the Internet 100, detect the update, and to store the update module 51 in a D drive 15b different from the C drive 15a, and to manage an update management program 40 for managing the stored update module 51 by update management information 50. When reconfiguring the operating system 30 of the C drive 15a, the update management program 40 reproduces update by using the update module 51 stored in a D drive 15b without performing access to the Internet 100 when reconfiguring the operating system 30 of the C drive 15a.
