PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decoration capable of sustaining superior hardness and aesthetic appearance for a long period of time and a timepiece provided with the decoration. SOLUTION: The decoration 1 includes a base material 2 mainly composed of Fe-Cr alloy and the coating film 3 mainly constituted by M (M is one, two or more kinds selected from Ti, Pt, Pd, Rd, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Zr, Au, Ru, Cr, Cu, Fe, Al, and In). The base material 2 includes a base part 21 and an austenite layer 22 which is made into austenite by addition of nitrogen atoms. The thickness of the austenite layer 22 is preferably 5-500μm. The content of the nitrogen in the austenite layer 22 is preferably 0.3-1.2 wt.%. The content of Ni in the base material 2 is preferably≤0.05 wt.%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
