PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for rapidly and simply concentrating abnormal prion protein with high efficiency, and a method for rapidly and simply removing abnormal prion protein from a biosample. SOLUTION: A liquid specimen containing body fluids and/or bio-tissue destructed substances is adjusted to pH 5.5-10.5 and an oxide, which is selected from an oxide of an element selected from silicon, aluminum, zirconium, titanium, molybdenum and tungsten, a composite oxide composed of at least two kinds of the above-mentioned elements, a composite oxide composed of at least one kind of the element and at least one kind of a metal element other than the element and a combination of at least two kinds of them, is added to and mixed with the specimen to concentrate the specimen or the precipitate obtained by precipitating the oxide.
