The device has individual, special, mutually independently movable carriages (1) to which the load goods are attached. The carriages can be automatically or semi-automatically moved onto the wagons (20) of a train via tracks (52) on the platform (50) with the aid of suitable drive units (80) and a process control system (60) on the platform or on a control carriage. An independent claim is also included for a method of loading and unloading railway wagons of a goods train for combined rail traffic.
