A power supply line communication apparatus capable of performing power supply line communication while suppressing the affect of a noise in a power supply line as much as possible. The power supply line communication apparatus superimposes a modulated signal in which a high frequency signal is modulated by a signal having specific information on the power supply line for supplying the power and transmits it. The apparatus distinguishes a first power supply line for performing the power supply and transmitting the modulated signal from a second power supply line for performing only the power supply. The apparatus includes a filter having a high impedance with respect to the frequency band of the high frequency signal between the first and second power supply lines. The apparatus connects a grounding-side line on the load side to the grounding line of the filter from the filter so as to ground the grounding line of the filter.
