PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus properly attaching a mark to a copy.

SOLUTION: A copying machine (image processing apparatus) reads an original as image data (S101). The copying machine determines whether information (a management document code or the like) denoting a management document is attached to the image data (S103). When the determination indicates YES, the copying machine embeds a copy mark to the image data (S105), and prints out the resulting image data (S107). When the determination indicates NO, the copying machine embeds no mark but prints out the image data (S107).
