PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display system for displaying, in an easy to see manner, guidance information desired by a user. SOLUTION: The map display system 10 comprises a map display device 20 and a map distribution device 30. The map distribution device 30 stores, in an icon database 38, data of icons constituted of moving images corresponding to node attribute information, and distributes, to the map display device 20, map data requested from the map display device 20 and an icon corresponding to the attribute of the node with the node where moving means changes according to the attribute information of the node as a guide point. The map display device 20 has a display section 23 for displaying a map, displays the map on the display section 23 on the basis of the map data and the guide point received from the map distributing device 30, and displays the icon corresponding to the guide point.
