PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guarantee the consistency of files straddling over a plurality of logically meaningful volumes or files arranged in the plurality of volumes. SOLUTION: The computer of a main site or a storage sub system handles an input/output request for updating data to the plurality of logically meaningful volumes from the computer as one group for the unit of a process, executes the updating request of the plurality of volumes by the unit of the group and executes updating altogether to the volumes of a remote site.
