PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display controller having excellent color reproducibility. SOLUTION: The image display controller controls an image display device equipped with a color liquid crystal light valve 100, a luminance liquid crystal light valve 102 and a temperature measurement means for measuring temperature of the luminance liquid crystal light valve 102 and has a high temperature VT characteristic LUT 207, a low temperature VT characteristic LUT 208 and a VT characteristic interpolation operation circuit 209. The high temperature VT characteristic LUT 207 stores a voltage value VT to a luminance control value M based on voltage to transmissivity at high temperature (65°C). The low temperature VT characteristic LUT 208 stores a voltage value VT to the luminance control M based on the voltage to transmissivity characteristics at low temperature (49°C). The VT characteristic interpolation operation circuit 209 performs primary interpolation of the voltage values VT obtained from the high temperature VT characteristic LUT 207 and the low temperature VT characteristic LUT 208 to calculate a voltage value VT to the luminance liquid crystal light valve 102 at temperature measured by the temperature measurement means.
