PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sorting apparatus for carrying a sorting tray with a sorting object placed thereon to a sorting position for discharging the sorting object, causing little abrasive injury of a sorting tray line to impart durability, by suppressing impact force and noise when overturningly turning the sorting tray in a carrying process to the lateral side of a carrying path. SOLUTION: The sorting apparatus is provided with an overturning suppressing guide 42 suppressing overturning speed by overturningly/slidingly guiding the sorting tray 3 in the sorting position, along the sorting tray line discharging the sorting object by overturning the sorting tray 3 at the sorting position of the carrying path, while disposing and rotatingly carrying the sorting tray 3 with the sorting object placed thereon along a carrying chain 1. The overturningly turning speed is suppressed to a slow speed by being guided by the overturning suppressing guide 42. Thus, an angular speed of the overturning turn by the dead weight of the sorting tray is regulated to be slow, to slowly drop for discharging the sorting object from the sorting tray 3.
