PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision energy absorbing structure in a steering device without influencing the design of an instrument panel. SOLUTION: The collision energy absorbing structure is set up on a floor panel 6 through a bracket, and bent in a reversed L-shape to position a tip end portion near a front side of a driver's seat. The collision energy absorbing structure comprises a steering supporting arm 8 provided with a steering column 7 at the tip end portion, and a steering wheel 9 attached to the steering column 7. At the time of front collision, a reinforcing supporting member 15 rotates in an A direction to support the steering column 7, and a collision energy absorbing mechanism 11 plastic-deforms to absorb the energy of secondary collision added on the steering wheel 9 is provided.
