A method of painting a body part, comprising first painting of a body part as a constituent of car body with the use of a first paint retained in a first tank and second painting of the first painted body part with the use of a second paint retained in a second tank, wherein while when in accordance with the progress of painting the second paint within the second tank or the first paint within the first tank is scarce, the first painting is carried out with the use of a new first paint comprised of a paint obtained by mixing in the first tank the first paint remaining in the first tank with the second paint remaining in the second tank, the second painting is carried out with the use of a paint being a new second paint supplied into the second tank and comprised of the same paint lot as used in the painting of another body part.
