A tubular stabbing assembly comprising: a mounting subassembly for releasable positioning on a drill rig without direct fastening thereto, an arm moveably attached to the mounting subassembly at a first end and having an outboard end opposite the first end, a drive system to drive movement of the arm relative to the mounting subassembly; and a stabbing hand equipped with a drive system for open/close operation mounted on the outboard end of the arm.
