<p>A biodegradable magnesium material for medical use which is degraded and absorbed in vivo, characterized by comprising crystallized magnesium or a magnesium alloy and a coating film, which contains magnesium oxide and hydroxide, formed on the surface thereof by anodic oxidation. This magnesium material can exhibit the desired mechanical characteristics (for example, strength, stretchability and so on) while showing no change in the mechanical characteristics inherent to magnesium or its alloy at the early stage of embedment and yet the retention time of the mechanical characteristics can be freely (longer or shorter) controlled.</p> |
