Acoustic tinnitus suppression method requires initially supplying sound with variable intensities, frequencies and phases to the ear of the patient and by comparison, the measured variables of the patients personal tinnitus are determined and stored, followed by mixing all output signals with consideration of arising distortion products such that a compensation sound having a mirror-image pattern of the individual detected tinnitus, is generated and an acoustic suppression of the tinnitus is effected.
