A METHOD AND RELATED DEVICE FOR BOOTING FROM A NON-XIP MEMORY

A method and device for booting from a non-XIP memory can boot the computer using a boot engine without the error correction function. The device comprises: a non-XIP memory for storing a plurality of OS mapping files and a boot program a XIP memory and a program code mapping module for mapping the boot program into the XIP memory and executing it to detect the errors of at least one of the OS mapping files in the non-XIP memory if a specific OS mapping file has not the errors by the detection the specific OS mapping file is mapped into the XIP memory wherein the program code mapping module has not the error correction function during booting the computer.
