HEAT-INSULATING DUMMY CELL, AND FUEL CELL STACK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-insulating dummy cell capable of improving startability from low temperature, and to provide a fuel cell stack.

SOLUTION: (1) The heat-insulating dummy cell 40 arranged at an end of a cell layered product of a fuel cell stack and having a conductive first layer 42 arranged between separators 41 and having a heat insulating property is composed. (2) The dummy cell has second layers 43 arranged between the separators 41 and the first layer 42, and each second layer 43 has pins 44 or walls extending in a direction vertical to the first layer. (3) Each second layer 43 includes a heat-insulating layer 45 filled with air or gas or reduced in pressure. (4) This fuel cell stack 23 with the heat-insulating dummy cell 40 arranged at an end of a cell layered product is composed. (5) A heat-insulating material 46 is arranged in the circumference of the end dummy cell 40.
