PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anti-freeze/coolant composition capable of efficiently inhibiting the corrosion of magnesium or a magnesium alloy and suitably used for a cooling system of e.g. an internal combustion engine such as an engine, etc.

SOLUTION: This anti-freeze/coolant composition for magnesium or the magnesium alloy is characterized by including a sulfur-containing alcohol or sulfur-containing phenol having at least one sulfur atom in its molecule.
