PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless LAN system which can facilitates setting, when starting wireless LAN communication, since a stealth mode AP can be searched and found by using an AP search signal similarly to the way regular AP is searched and found, and can prevent interception of SSID and thereby can improve the stealth mode security. SOLUTION: The wireless LAN system includes wireless terminal devices and a wireless access point. An SSID notification signal has its SSID storing region encrypted. Upon the reception of an access point search signal from a wireless terminal device, the wireless LAN system refers to a DB where MAC addresses of wireless terminal devices are stored and sends out the SSID notification signal to a wireless terminal device registered in the DB.
