PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a room lamp device for a vehicle capable of carrying out the optimum flux distribution so as to increase luminous energy at a point requiring lighting by decreasing it at a point requiring no lighting. SOLUTION: A light refraction part 12 consisting of a plurality of rectilinear prism structural parts 11 longitudinally extending roughly along the vehicle longitudinal direction is formed on an inner surface 5a of a lamp cover 5 positioned below a light source 1 on this room lamp device 1 for the vehicle furnished with the light source 4 and the lamp cover 5 to distribute light to the required points indoor by covering the light source, arranged roughly at a central point of a ceiling front part indoor and to light indoor.
