PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device which is capable of properly performing image processing, without deteriorating the resolution of characters, and to provide an image transmitting device, an image forming device, a program and a recording medium. SOLUTION: The image processing device is equipped with a gray pixel detecting means of detecting the pixels of intermediate density, a white pixel detecting means of detecting white pixels, and a specific pixel detecting means of detecting pixels other than the white pixel, in the prescribed regions of the read image data. The image processing device corrects the pixel values of the white pixels, on the basis of the pixel value of specific pixels other than the white pixel and determines the pixels, ranging from pixels of intermediate density to the corrected pixels, as gray pixels.
