PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily producing oligosaccharides with slight miscellaneous tastes high in intestine-normalizing effect, using woody plants as raw materials, through suppressing the loss of oligosaccharides of high molecular weight in the refining process. SOLUTION: The method for producing the oligosaccharides by refining an oligosacchrides-containing crude liquid obtained with arboreous plants as raw materials, is provided, including the step of treating the crude liquid with active alumina. In this method, a combination of treatment(s) using an ion-exchange resin and/or a small amount of active carbon and/or the like can be adopted in addition of the active alumina treatment.
