PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a peroxy acid which can mitigate the offensive odor (oxy acid odor) in preparing and using a peroxy acid disinfectant, and furthermore can produce the peroxy acid on-demand on-site in a high yield, a peroxy acid-containing aqueous composition for sterilization which is obtained by this preparing method and can be used as it is, and a medical bactericide. SOLUTION: The method for preparing the peroxy acid comprises reacting an acylating agent with hydrogen peroxide water under basic conditions in the flow passage of a flow reactor.
