PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation controller of an elevator, specifying an elevator assumed to cause a substantial damage due to an earthquake among a number of elevators encountering an earthquake in a monitoring center. SOLUTION: The operation controller of an elevator includes: a monitoring terminal 3 for monitoring the operating condition of the elevator to give an information to the monitoring center; a P-wave detector 4a for detecting P wave; an S-wave detector 4a for detecting an S-wave; and an earthquake supervisory operation performing part 35 for performing an earthquake supervisory operation when P-wave above a regulated level is detected. Further, an earthquake detection signal is transmitted to the monitoring center only when an S-wave above a fixed level is not detected by an S-wave detector 4b after the lapse of a predetermined time since the P-wave detector 31 has detected a P-wave above the regulated level.
