PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new-roll holding means of rolls to be recombined when recombining the rolls as to a roll recombining device of a rolling mill having small-diameter rolls which have no bearing box and receive thrust load by the end faces of the rolls. SOLUTION: An upper work roll 201 and an upper intermediate roll are spaced, the upper work roll 201 is supported with a roll holding member and a rolled stock is supported with a sheet passing guide. After that, by supporting the work roll 201 (or 211) by a cantilever supporting means 101 by which the work roll 201 (or 211) is supported by cantilevering one roll end part in the upper part than the center of the end face of the work roll and supporting this supporting means 101 on a roll recombining truck 108 through an elastic supporting means 100, roll recombining is performed.
