PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning apparatus that eliminates a shadow part cast by a work holding means itself, stabilizes its actions for holding and cleaning a work, and is free from a faulty cleaning action performed at each of the stop positions of the work even if an endless moving belt such as a transfer chain is stretched due to a long operation period. SOLUTION: The cleaning apparatus comprises a work holding member 7 on which a work 1 is placed, a press-down member 19 for pressing down the upper face of the work 1, and an ejection nozzle 20 for ejecting a cleaning medium, wherein the cleaning medium is blown onto the work 1 which is placed on the work holding member 7 while pressing it down by the press-down member 19. The press-down member 19 and the ejection nozzle 20 are solidly disposed in one piece and are made to move together, whereby a problem of a shadow cast by the press-down member 19 and problems relating to the movement of the press-down member 19 and the ejection nozzle 20 caused by stretching of an endless moving belt such as the transfer chain for transferring the work holding member 7 are eliminated.
