A video image processing device is provided with a filter means for filtering a video image signal; a sampling means for sampling the filtering-subjected video signal at a prescribed sampling frequency to form first digital video image signals with a first resolution; and a super-resolution means for making a plurality of the first digital video signals obtained from the sampling means super-high resolution by using them thereby to restructure a second video image signal with a second resolution that is higher than the first resolution of the first video image signals, wherein the filter means makes not only frequency components equal to or less than 1/2 of the Nyquist frequency but also a part of frequency components equal to or less than the Nyquist frequency and the maximum high frequency that can be expressed by the second resolution pass.
