<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforced type electrolyte film for a fuel cell, which improves mechanical strength, durability and life of a fuel cell, while restraining a volume of hydrogen gas permeating an electrolyte film as well as cross leak deteriorating a film due to generation of heat with hydrogen reacting with oxygen. <P>SOLUTION: The reinforced type electrolyte film for a fuel cell is reinforced with a porous film 2 and has precious metal-carrying carbon 4 existing on the surface and/or inside pores of the porous film.
