COLORED COMPOSITION, AND TRANSFER MATERIAL, LIGHT-SHIELDING IMAGE FOR DISPLAY DEVICE, SUBSTRATE HAVING LIGHT-SHIELDING IMAGE, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE WHICH EACH USES THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a colored composition having a gray hue and suitable for making black matrixes and the like without enlarging the thicknesses of films, and to obtain a transfer material, a light-shielding image for a display device, a substrate having a light-shielding image, and a liquid crystal display device which each uses the same.

SOLUTION: This colored composition is characterized by containing fine particles having a negative dielectric constant real part in a binder having an abnormal dispersion of a dielectric constant in a visible region, and having at least three absorption regions comprising an absorption region by the binder having the abnormal dispersion of the dielectric constant and two absorption regions appearing on the long wavelength side and short wavelength side of the absorption region by the localized surface plasmons of the fine particles having the negative dielectric constant real part surrounded with the binder having the abnormal dispersion of the dielectric constant. The colored composition may contain fine particles having an abnormal dispersion of a dielectric constant and fine particles having a negative dielectric constant real part in a binder.
