<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable disconnection detection system which is capable of specifying a disconnection point quickly and precisely, without installing large-scale radio equipment, even when the disconnection point of a power cable and a communication cable are farther remote from a monitoring base and is inexpensive. <P>SOLUTION: The system comprises IC tags 31 to 39 and cable disconnection detectors 41 to 49, provided to each of a plurality of utility poles 21 to 29 for repeating the power cable 2 and a terminal 15 installed at a monitoring point. The IC tags comprise antennas for radio communication, RF parts for performing modulation and demodulation, signal processing parts for generating disconnection signals, control units, and power source parts. The terminal 15 comprises a reader for receiving information from the IC tags and a processing unit for identifying a disconnection point, from the read information from the IC tags. The disconnection signals, transmitted by the IC tags and position information on the IC tags, are transmitted to the terminal 15 by sequentially transmitting them between the IC tags, and the disconnection point is specified. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
