PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet device having a head recovery device which is a system from ink supply to head recovery of one pump and can be formed of one pump and is low-cost and reliable and a pressure control section permitting stable back pressure to be set. SOLUTION: The liquid jet device varies pressure in a hermetically sealable vessel by feeding a liquid into or discharging the liquid out of the vessel in a hermetically sealed condition, and controls the pressure by feeding or discharging the quantity of the liquid equal to the volume change of the gas. The volume change of the gas is expressed by formula 1 when the initial pressure in the vessel is P1, the initial volume of the gas is V1 and the required pressure in the vessel is P2.
