PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a granular material storing method capable of safely storing a granular material by suppressing heat generation caused by the low-temperature oxidation or the like of the granular material having heat buildup. SOLUTION: Dry ice or a liquefied inert gas is charged or poured into a granular material storage container, and the granular material is cooled to suppress an exothermal reaction such as low-temperature oxidation by cooling the granular material. Further, inside the granular material storage container, a carbon dioxide which is an inert gas of sublimed dry ice or an inert gas which is the vaporized liquefied inert gas is substituted for air remaining in the granular material container to suppress the exothermal reaction such as the low-temperature oxidation of the granular material.
